Thundercats Classic Years Collection

A few backers have been asking if they will be receiving the Mark Spears comics that were part of the thank you to backers announced during the campaign run.  Yes - both the comics and the stretch goal prints will be included with the pledge shipping.  The fill list will be generated when the books are in our hands, and everyone will be scheduled to get the incentives we announced.  

We'll get another update out soon, when we can confirm the shipping and receiving schedule of books hitting our warehouse.  Thanks for supporting this project - we can't wait for everyone to see these beautiful editions.

Just a quick update here on the status of the Thundercats Omnibus books and their projected shipping from the printer.  At this time - the pledge manager surveys have all been sent!  The smoke test was completed successfully, and the entirety of the surveys are now sent to all the backers.  Please check your email and junk folders to see if you have the link to complete the shipping information.  If you do not - here is the direct link to do so:

We also heard from the printer that the books are expected to be finished being printed, bound, and packed for shipping by the week after next!  Normally we expect about a week for transportation time from the printer to us.  So, we are excited to confirm for everyone that we expect shipping to backers to begin in just a few more weeks!  Watch for updates as the books ship from the printer and get received here at our warehouse.

We just heard back from the printer - things are progressing nicely in the printing process for the Thundercats trades and hardcovers.  The guts are on press now which will be followed by the covers and the bindings in the next few weeks.  We should have a good picture of the projected completion date and the shipping timetable moving the books from the printer to our warehouse.  As soon as the books arrive - we will move to ship the first copies out to all of our backers on the project.

The pledge manager is lined up and ready to launch.  Backerkit's process is that a "smoke test" will go out first to a small percentage of backers.  That will need 48 hours to process and assuming everything runs smoothly, the entire rest of the backer list will be engaged immediately following.  Backers will have a couple of weeks to complete the survey and shipping info before we lock the first batch for shipping.  

We will update again as the pledge manager process moves forward to keep everyone on the same page.  If there are any concerns - please let us know at [email protected] and we'll do our best to answer questions that come in.  We're excited to see the finished books from the printer and even more stoked to start shipping the Thundercats Omnibuses to you. 

Another quick update here on the production of the Thundercats Graphic Novels.  All of the back and forth of the preparation process between the printer and approvals of the books has been completed.  The printer is now getting ready to begin the pre-press process which includes preparation for the books to start running on press.  This process of preparation takes about a week - and right now we are looking at the printer completing that part of the work by the end of next week.

At that point - the books will be scheduled for press and will start being made.  As the books print - the pages will be compiled and prepared for binding.  The great news is that everything is moving along as expected and we should be giving everyone updates on our projected shipping schedule very soon.  We will continue to provide updates at each stage of printing and will make sure you know when we'll be starting fulfillment.  

We have been in communication with the printer of the Thundercats omnibus volumes, and they are working hard to prep the prototypes of the print run.  For the standard softcover volumes, we are using very straightforward printing processes that everyone is used to.  For the oversized hardcover, we always like to have a prototype sample because we want to ensure the quality is unrivaled.  We would also like to know exactly what the materials will look like when they are put together in the final configuration.  Every facet of printing is detailed before they begin (all the materials, finishes, paper types, printing, and binding processes).  

The really great news here for backers is that we are printing in North America.  It's a more expensive process, but it means a faster turnaround time from when they start running the books on press.  Once we have press time reserved and they begin the printing, we will have a solid timeline +/-a week or two at most.

We're talking with the printer weekly about the process.  So we will try to provide regular updates as we advance, even if the update is that things are still being finalized for printing to begin.  Keep an eye out for the next check-in coming soon.
